The Spark That Started It All
TBN: Hi Renee, we’ve read so much about your transformation story, and it’s truly inspiring. What was the first small step you took toward your awakening, and how did it begin to change the way you saw yourself?
RW: My journey started over 20 years ago when I was in a life coaching group. My coach asked me a simple yet profound question: What do you want? I remember feeling completely lost – I couldn’t even begin to answer. That moment made me realize how much of my life had been about doing what was expected of me, rather than tuning in to my own desires and needs.
That one question started a path of embracing curiosity and asking myself deeper questions I had been avoiding: What truly matters to me? What lights me up? Over time, this led me to explore meditation and spirituality. Those practices completely shifted how I saw myself—from someone who needed to control everything and look outside for answers, to someone who felt deeply connected, capable of trusting, surrendering, and flowing with life.
TBN: Motherhood and anxiety played pivotal roles in your story. How did those experiences help you reconnect with your true self, Renee?
RW: I always say that my kids have been my greatest teachers. We learn the most about ourselves through our relationships, and motherhood is the ultimate one. It’s taught me so much about patience, resilience, and – perhaps most importantly- letting go of control. Motherhood has been both the most challenging and the most rewarding experience, constantly pushing me to grow and evolve.
My journey with anxiety mirrors this in many ways. As overwhelming as it was at times, it became a gateway for deeper self-awareness. It forced me to connect with my body and pay attention to what it was trying to tell me. It opened the door to energy healing and became a wake-up call that I wasn’t living in alignment with my truth.
Anxiety pushed me to explore tools like energy work. It was through this process that I began to peel back the layers of conditioning and expectations and reconnect with my essence. That journey ultimately clarified my purpose: to guide others in reconnecting with their own truth, so they can live more aligned, fulfilling lives.
The Importance of Coaching and Purpose
TBN: For someone new to spiritual coaching, what can they expect from the process, and how does it differ from other types of personal development?
RW: Spiritual coaching begins with the belief that there is a higher power at play and that your soul is an expression of this energy, here to shine in its own beautiful and unique way. It’s not just about setting goals or achieving external success—it’s about aligning your energy, uncovering your true desires, and clearing the blocks that hold you back from being your authentic self.
This process is deeply transformational because it’s a co-creative journey. Together, we tap into your intuition and inner wisdom, which are often overlooked in traditional coaching. Spiritual coaching is less about “fixing” something and more about returning to your essence—the part of you that’s already whole, connected, and powerful.
When the changes come from this deeply authentic place, they don’t just feel right—they flow naturally. You’ll find that as your energy shifts, your external world begins to align, often in ways you couldn’t have anticipated.
TBN: If you could whisper one piece of advice to the version of you starting this journey 20 years ago, what would it be?
RW: Trust. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Slow down, breathe, and tune into your intuition – it knows the way. Everything is unfolding exactly as it’s meant to, for your highest and best. Even the challenges are there to guide you back to yourself. Stop doubting, stop overthinking, and just trust. You’re supported more than you know, and the answers will come when you’re ready to receive them.
Why Energy Matters—And How to Align It
TBN: Energy is at the heart of your work. Why is it so important to bring awareness to our energy, and how can someone begin to align their energy in everyday life?
RW: Energy is the unseen force behind everything—our thoughts, emotions, and actions. It shapes how we show up in the world and how we experience life. When we bring awareness to our energy, we start to notice what drains us and what fuels us. This awareness empowers us to make intentional choices that align with our values and desires.
A great place to start aligning your energy is simply by noticing how you feel in different situations, around certain people, or when engaging in specific activities. Are they energizing or depleting you? Setting boundaries is a powerful way to protect your energy, making sure you’re saying “yes” to what serves you and “no” to what doesn’t.
Creating rituals can also help you intentionally manage your energy. This might include grounding practices like breathwork, setting intentions each morning, or using visualization techniques to shield and protect your energy throughout the day. These small but meaningful habits can help you align with your highest self.
TBN: Imagine someone who’s never meditated before—they’re skeptical but curious. What would you say to them to encourage them to try it?
RW: Meditation isn’t about silencing your thoughts or achieving some perfect state of calm—it’s about creating space to observe your thoughts without judgment. It’s like giving your mind a chance to breathe, to rest, and to reset.
Think of it as becoming your own best friend, learning to be with what is, without the pressure to fix or change anything at the moment. The beautiful thing about meditation is that you can’t do it wrong. It’s not about getting it perfect; it’s about showing up for yourself.
Start small—maybe just a minute or two a day. Sit quietly, focus on your breath, and if your mind wanders (which it will), gently bring it back. Be kind to yourself in the process. Meditation is less about the outcome and more about the practice. Over time, you start to respond to life rather than react to everything it throws at you. You also notice subtle shifts – a little more clarity, a little more ease, and a deeper connection to yourself.

Manifesting the Life You Want
TBN: Renee, you often talk about alignment and manifestation. What’s one moment in your life when everything clicked and a dream became reality?
RW: I love this question! The “click” often comes when you realize that manifestation is a process, not a single moment. It’s a creative force that unfolds over time as you honor your desires and take inspired action toward them.
I remember a powerful moment during a visualization exercise when I realized I was already living what I had once only dreamed of. I was a spiritual teacher and mindset coach, working with incredible clients, and doing work that deeply aligned with my purpose. It was such a profound realization—it “clicked” at that moment, but it was the result of countless small choices I had made along the way to support this desire and vision.
Manifestation isn’t just about achieving the end goal; it’s about aligning with the energy of what you want, trusting the process as it unfolds, and embracing who you are becoming along the way. The transformation within you is just as meaningful as the desire itself.
TBN: For someone new to meditation, what’s a simple practice they can start with to cultivate self-awareness?
RW: Begin to notice how you feel. We call it a meditation practice because it truly requires practice. Just like going to the gym, the benefits and shifts happen over time. Meditation trains your mind to be present, and the impact is cumulative—it builds with consistency.
It’s also important to remember that meditation isn’t just about the practice itself; it’s about how it transforms the way you show up in your life. It cultivates awareness, grounding, and calm that carries into everything you do.
A simple way to start is with a body scan. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Bring your awareness to the top of your head and slowly scan down through each part of your body, noticing any sensations without judgment. This practice helps you connect with the present moment and grounds your energy.
The key is to start small and be gentle with yourself. Even a few minutes a day can make a meaningful difference.
Step Into Your Light—Even When It Feels Scary
TBN: Your podcast, Spiritually Wired, is such an exciting project. What’s the main objective behind it, and what impact do you hope it has on your listeners?
RW: The main purpose of the Spiritually Wired Podcast is to inspire and empower listeners to live in alignment with their truth. I want it to be a space where people feel seen, supported, and encouraged to explore their spirituality in a way that resonates deeply with them.
My hope is that every episode leaves listeners with actionable insights and tools to help them live a more intentional, connected, and vibrant life. Personally, I’ve experienced the most profound shifts when I began blending the power of spirituality with mindset healing. That integration has been transformative, and my goal with the podcast is to share that balance with my audience so they too can unlock their potential and step into their light.
TBN: The idea of women living their truth is so powerful. What’s one way we can all start shining our light today, even if it feels scary?
RW: Start by taking one small, courageous step towards honoring yourself – your needs and desires. I love that you included “even if it feels scary” in your question – because the truth is, stepping into your light can be uncomfortable. It’s new, and it means something to you. But that fear is a signal that you’re on the right path.
Whether it’s speaking your truth, setting a boundary, or pursuing a dream, every time you choose to honor your light, it grows stronger. And remember, you’re not alone in this. There’s a whole community of women cheering you on. Most importantly, the world truly needs your beautiful and unique light. Take a deep breath. You’ve got this!
