Some healing journeys start with a whisper, others with a roar. For Lauren Russell, it began with a moment of honesty—a moment where she looked at herself and decided she was done being stuck. Done letting trauma define her path. Done living small. That decision didn’t just change her life; it led her to help other women reclaim their own power.
Lauren’s work is all about peeling back the layers of societal pressure and internalized fear to rediscover who we truly are. Through somatic healing, nervous system regulation, and creative self-expression, Lauren guides women to reconnect with their bodies, release trauma, and step fully into their most authentic selves.
But Lauren isn’t all serious—she believes in the magic of play, the grounding energy of nature, and the healing power of dancing freely in your kitchen. From a small town in Kentucky to exploring over 17 countries, Lauren’s path is a beautiful blend of bold choices, deep healing, and unapologetic joy. Her story reminds us that healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about coming home to ourselves. And that journey, as Lauren shows us, can be as playful as it is powerful.
Let’s dive in.
Lauren’s Path to Empowerment
TBN: Lauren, your path is so unique! What first sparked your interest in exploring self-expression, creativity, and healing?
LR: I’ve always been a very self-expressive and creative person. That has always been a cornerstone of my life. What got me into healing was, if I’m just being honest, being fed up with myself. I was tired of my trauma keeping me stuck, I was tired of not building the life I wanted, and I was tired of repeating patterns.
TBN: As someone who grew up in a small town in Kentucky and then explored over 17 countries, how has travel shaped your perspective on life and personal growth?
LR: Travel has allowed me to see and adopt different perspectives. I grew up with a pretty limited lens on what the rest of the world was like, through my travels I’ve been able to get a greater understanding of people and the world as a whole.
Transformative Growth and Guidance
TBN: Can you share a pivotal moment in your coaching journey where you witnessed someone fully embrace their True Self?
LR: For sure. I had a client who was really struggling with people pleasing, control, and being a “good girl”. It made her resentful in her romantic relationship, anxious about her family dynamics, and exhausted in her business. In our time together she was able to go from wanting to leave her partner to developing the most beautiful relationship with him. She also found more peace inside her business and was able to move with the ebbs and flows with more ease, and create boundaries with her family. This allowed her to have more space to FEEL HERSELF and really connect with who she was and what she wanted out of life.
TBN: Your coaching focuses on befriending the nervous system and releasing trauma. Why do you think this work is so transformative for women?
LR: The nervous system is the foundation for how we experience life. For so many women, cultural conditioning has taught us to prioritize others, suppress our needs, and stay small. These patterns live not just in our minds, but in our bodies. They shape how we feel, think, and react on a physiological level. When we befriend the nervous system, we begin to understand these patterns as survival strategies rather than flaws. Trauma and stress can lock us into fight, flight, freeze, or fawn responses, keeping us from feeling safe to take up space, set boundaries, or access joy.
Through this work, women learn to feel at home in their bodies again. They develop the tools to regulate their emotions, process stuck energy, and expand their capacity for pleasure, connection, and power. It’s transformative because it goes beyond mindset shifts. This is deep, embodied healing. Women don’t just learn how to cope… They rewrite their stories and reclaim their lives in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.

Play, Create, Heal: Lauren’s Recipe for a Fulfilling Life
TBN: Nature seems to play a big role in your life, Lauren. How does spending time outdoors inspire your healing and creative work?
LR: For thousands of years humans lived in close and reciprocal relationships with nature and the land they inhabited. In modern society, we’ve lost our way a bit. Nature inspires me because it is so full of LIFE and magic. It reminds me of my roots and connects me to something bigger than myself.
TBN: Playfulness and creativity are pillars for you. What’s one playful or creative practice you swear by, especially when life feels heavy?
LR: DANCING. Always. Put on a good song and move your body like no one is watching.
Astrology and Energy Work: Tools for Healing and Growth
TBN: When did you first feel drawn to astrology and energy work, and how did you realize their impact on your life?
LR: This is an interesting one because I got into astrology when I was maybe 13. Very young. I was a Tumblr kid so I was already a little bit weird and when I found astrology it helped me have a framework of relating to myself. As far as somatic work/energy work goes, I discovered this work in 2021 when I was trying to navigate CPTSD. When I discovered it, it completely changed my life and opened me up to this new way of feeling and healing.
TBN: As someone deeply connected to astrology and energy work, how do these frameworks help you and your clients navigate challenges?
LR: Astrology is something that I integrate here and there, it’s not a pillar of my work although it is fascinating to me. The somatic work is the foundation of my work and it is so powerful because it allows people to connect to their feeling and sensing body, not just the cognitive-thinking self. It is such a supportive modality because so many people are walking around in a dysregulated daze. Our society is extremely fast and at times ruthless in the pursuit of producing more. Somatic work teaches us to fall in love with slowness and to move at a more natural rhythm.
Empowered Women, Empowering Generations
TBN: For women new to healing work, what’s the first small step they can take to begin their journey? Would you recommend coaching?
LR: I think the first small step anyone can take is looking at their relationship with compassion and acceptance. Those two things hold the master keys to most healing work. Of course, I recommend coaching, but if that’s not feasible there are so many things you can do completely on your own to empower yourself.
TBN: If you could give a message to all the women out there navigating their healing journeys, what would it be?
LR: You are enough. You are doing enough. Look at all you have already accomplished and let go of the belief that there is something inherently “wrong” with you that has to be fixed.
