If you love fall like I do, you sure know there’s something special about this season. Yes, I’m a Gilmore Girl. I can’t help but romanticize the falling leaves, Thanksgiving season, cardigans, and the inevitable nostalgia. If Taylor Swift were a season, she would undoubtedly be autumn.
Having said that, today I bring you The Ultimate Fall Bucket List so you can experience this season in an organized way with goals to achieve. Yes, I’m a Virgo, how did you guess? 😉
It Feels Like Fall: How Seasonal Scents Affect Your Emotions
According to American Family Care, the fall season brings its own unique challenges. Fall is a time of transition, with kids going back to school, the weather becoming less welcoming and the end of the year approaching, it can be a stressful time for many.
The transition from summer to fall weather can bring about a range of emotions; for some, it may lead to feelings of sadness or depression. This phenomenon, known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), is linked to decreased natural sunlight during the fall and winter.
Reduced exposure to sunlight can disrupt our body’s internal clock and affect the production of critical mood-regulating neurotransmitters like serotonin and melatonin. In addition to the biological factors, the change in scenery and daily routines can also impact mental health. The shift from outdoor activities and social gatherings to indoor, often more isolated, settings can contribute to feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Colors Psychology
According to Color Psychology, color psychology is the study of how colors affect your behavior, mood, and impression of others. Research shows that colors can greatly affect our moods and the way other people respond to us. Amazingly, colors can even change our heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration.
When it comes to communication, color is unbeatable. Unconscious or otherwise, color can evoke emotions, inspire reactions, and change modes of thinking. It can excite or soothe your mood, raise or lower your blood pressure, and even whet your appetite! Whether it’s innate or learned, it’s undeniable that color has a vital impact on how we go about our lives.
We feel color. How or what we feel about it varies from person to person. Some colors give us a sense of serenity and calm; these usually lie within the blue side of the spectrum, which consists of purple and green, also known as the cool side. Others induce rage and make us uncomfortable, or signify passion; these lie within the red spectrum-which includes orange and yellow, known as the warm side.
