Journaling is an activity that promotes creativity, meditation, and self-awareness. For some, it is a regular part of their daily routine. For others, it might be something they’ve always wanted to try.

With everything that’s going on in the world, we are all finding ourselves at home with way more time on our hands than ever before. And that also means a lot more time spent with ourselves. For some of us, that can be a pretty intimidating thought. But journaling is an easy and satisfying way of connecting with our inner selves, even if you only do it for five minutes.

Here are some journaling prompts that help with self-love and gratitude. Grab a comfy spot, your coffee of choice, a cozy blanket, and your favorite journal/pen combo.


  1. What does personal wellness/well-being look like to you?

  2. What are three things you’ve done really well this week?

  3. What is the kindest thing you did for yourself this week?

  4. What is the kindest thing you did for someone else this week?

  5. Make a list of people, activities, thought patterns that give you peace and love toward yourself. Then make a list of what your day-to-day looks like. Compare the lists and write about how you can make adjustments to your everyday life. 

  6. Think of someone in your life that you appreciate. Who is the first person to pop up in your head? Why do you appreciate this person?

  7. What are three good things that have come out of the recent craziness in the world? 

  8. What is your intuition telling you today?

  9. What do you personally offer the world that no one else can?

  10. What are some of the areas where you could use more self-compassion or self-love?
